Rettenmeier Holding AG, one of Europe’s leading producers of solid wood products for construction, garden, and industrial applications, is further expanding its international presence. With the establishment of Rettenmeier UK Ltd., the group is strengthening its position in the United Kingdom while simultaneously improving service quality, logistics performance, and security of supply for its local customers.
The newly established subsidiary, based in Birmingham, will manage and coordinate all of the Rettenmeier Group’s activities in the United Kingdom. This includes sales, local warehousing, logistics, and customer service. The new warehouse in Warrington will play a key role in significantly reducing delivery times and increasing nationwide delivery capacity.
The British market is of strategic importance to Rettenmeier and is characterized by stable demand for sustainable wood products. In recent years, the group has strategically expanded its production capacities, including through the acquisition of Europe’s largest sawmill in Plößberg (Germany) and the construction of a new site in Inčukalns (Latvia). These investments have significantly broadened the product portfolio, particularly in product categories with high demand in the United Kingdom.
By establishing its own warehousing and logistics infrastructure, Rettenmeier is laying the foundation for further growth in the British market. At the same time, this will enable close future cooperation with B&Q, the UK’s largest DIY store chain and part of the Kingfisher Group, with whom Rettenmeier has already been successfully collaborating for several years.
“The United Kingdom is a key growth market for us with consistently high demand for sustainable wood products,” says Dr. Stephan Lang, CEO of Rettenmeier Holding AG. “By expanding our production capacities and strengthening strategic partnerships, we have laid the foundation for further growth. With Rettenmeier UK Ltd., we are now establishing a high-performing local base that will enable us to serve our customers in the United Kingdom even more directly and efficiently.”
The establishment of Rettenmeier UK Ltd. is part of the group’s long-term internationalization strategy. The aim is to further strengthen its position as a reliable partner for sustainable wood solutions in Europe and at the same time to tap into new customer segments.
