WEINMANN draws positive conclusions: High demand for flexible automation solutions in timber construction With 55,933 visitors from 28 countries, DACH+HOLZ International 2026 in Cologne reached a historic high. The strong visitor response and the noticeably positive mood in the industry confirmed for WEINMANN Holzbausystemtechnik GmbH the high importance of the trade fair as a central platform for timber construction.
Under the motto “Building Living Spaces,” the HOMAG Group’s specialist for timber construction automation presented modular machine solutions that can be individually tailored to specific production requirements. The focus was on flexible concepts that enable companies to gradually automate their production while responding to changing market conditions. This offering was met with great interest in Cologne: The booth in Hall 7 was very well attended throughout the four days, and discussions with carpentry firms, timber construction companies, and industrial manufacturers were intensive and solution-oriented.
Flexible concepts for craft and industry
WEINMANN’s focus was on modular and scalable machine concepts along the entire process chain – from joinery and element production to material handling. Solutions for increasing the degree of prefabrication were particularly in demand.
The WALLTEQ M-300 multifunction bridge, which is specially tailored to the requirements of the trade, attracted a great deal of attention. In combination with the fastenerSwitch quick-change system, it enables flexible and reliable changing of fasteners.
The new WALLTEQ units for element production and facade installation were very well received: the facade shoe for semi-automatic facade installation and the RAPICMASTER sealing tape applicator, developed in collaboration with pro clima, for the automated application of sealing tapes.
Both solutions address the growing demand for greater process reliability and efficiency in prefabrication—a key topic of many technical discussions at the trade fair.
BUILDTEQ A-200 impresses as a modular all-rounder
Another highlight was the new BUILDTEQ A-200 assembly table. As a modular all-rounder for the production of wall, roof, ceiling, and gable elements, it offers high flexibility combined with a compact design.
The automatic, space-saving turning of the elements directly on the spot met with particular interest. Many visitors saw this as a clear advantage in terms of space efficiency and ergonomics—two aspects that are becoming increasingly important in times of rising construction costs and scarce production space.
The ability to customize the BUILDTEQ A-200 to existing production environments was seen by numerous companies as an important step toward gradual and investment-safe automation.
Holistic approach with SCHULER Consulting
The trade fair presentation was complemented by the consulting services offered by SCHULER Consulting. The specialist presentation “Cost-effective prefabricated timber construction – comprehensively understanding, optimizing, and managing cost factors” was very well received and underscored WEINMANN’s holistic approach: cost-effectiveness in timber construction is achieved through the interaction of technology, processes, and organization.
Positive signals from the industry
DACH+HOLZ International 2026 clearly showed that despite ongoing challenges, the timber construction industry is looking ahead with confidence. Personal exchanges, the high quality of discussions, and the concrete willingness of many companies to invest confirmed this impression.
For WEINMANN, the trade fair was a complete success. “We sensed that companies are looking for practical, flexible solutions that will enable them to make their production more efficient and future-proof at the same time,” concluded WEINMANN CEO Darko Zimbakov. “This is exactly where our modular concepts come in.”
With many qualified contacts and concrete project inquiries, WEINMANN is now looking ahead—and is already looking forward to the next DACH+HOLZ International 2028 in Stuttgart.
