Unalam was proud to welcome Pastor Stew Kouba and David Walling of the Atlanta Methodist Church from Atlanta, Texas, to its manufacturing facility in Sidney, New York. Unalam is currently producing custom glulam components for the church’s main worship space, a project more than 25 years in the making. The scope of work includes Southern Yellow Pine arches, pitch and taper beams, structural beams, and tongue-and-groove decking. Several glulam members will also be pressure-treated to ensure durability for exterior exposure. Each element is being crafted to meet the church’s unique design and structural requirements, highlighting the precision and expertise behind the project.

Pastor Stew Kouba shared his enthusiasm for the partnership: “After 25 years in the making, we are ready to build our sanctuary. There are only a couple of glulam manufacturers in the U.S. that could handle our specific glulam needs, and Unalam saved the day.  By working with Unalam, our proposed production time was cut in half. Rik, Ian, Craig, Lee, and the whole Unalam team has been an absolute joy to work with.  They have excelled in communication, precision, and expertise throughout the whole process.  We had the opportunity to visit their 1800 linear foot facility in Sidney, New York just a couple of weeks ago.  Thank you for having us!  They take pride in their customers, their product, and the ethics they stand behind.  I don’t feel like a customer anymore; I feel like family.  Thank you Unalam for exemplifying how a company should operate!”

Ian Van Cott, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Unalam, also reflected on the significance of the project: “It is an honor to be involved in the Atlanta Methodist Church project that has been 25 years in the making. Unalam took great pride in welcoming Pastor Stew Kouba and David Walling of the Atlanta Methodist Church to our factory in Sidney, NY. We look forward to the completion of another successful project that generations can worship in for years to come. Thank you to Pastor Stew and the Atlanta Methodist Church!”

We are excited to see this vision come to life and looks forward to sharing updates as the project progresses. Stay tuned for the finished product!
